Corbin

Just a quick update....Corbin went into surgery shortly after 6 yesterday a.m. He was in, and out, quickly. He's adjusting well to the splints in his eyes. They're bothering him a bit, but that's to be expected. He's now battling bronchitis and 2 ear infections, but he's back at school today--by his own wishes. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They were felt, and were much appreciated. Love you all.

I'm raising a.........

.......GIANT. Quite possibly the cutest giant EVER!! I wonder if Goliath's mother had as much trouble keeping him in clothes/shoes that fit as I do with Baylor.

I took Baylor in to the Dr.'s office this week. Baylor is still 2, and will turn 3 in March.....BUT, she is the average height of a 5 year old, and the average weight of a 6 year old. She is 40" tall, and weighs 43 lbs. She wears size 5T--though that's really too small. And, she wears a size 10 shoe.
Oh! How I love the difference between each of our kiddos.

Have you ever had one of those days?

Have you ever had one of "those" days? One of those days, that when it ends, you wish you had just stayed in bed all day--never leaving the house? That was my day today. I have two little girls with bronchitis and massive ear infections. I had 6, yes 6, prescriptions filled for the two of them....Then it was off to the eye doctor for Corbin. He has tear ducts blocked in both eyes, and will have surgery next Wednesday. While buckling the kids back into their seats, after the eye doctor, I happen to notice a nearly flat tire. SO...after sitting in a pediatricians office with kids that have every type of cough and wheez that I've ever heard, and then moving on over to the eye doctor where we sat for an hour before being called back (no food or drink allowed in a waiting room filled with hungry little children...I hope they don't care that I broke that rule many times), and a "really" classy tire repair place for an hour and 1/2 while watching Dora, Diego, and Backyardigans...I was REALLY glad to be back home. I wasn't too concerned that breakfast dishes were still in the sink, or that the laundry was still in the washer. I was home. Maybe, since it's 9:15 pm, I should go start on those dishes.
Please pray for us this week. No parent likes to see their child go into surgery. Corbin's surgery will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, if all goes as scheduled. It's not a very invasive surgery(so we're told), but they still have to put him to sleep and operate on his eyes.

I'm back......

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." Robert Frost
How true, how true!! Life just goes on. Whether there are sick children (which there are), whether there is homework to be done (which there is), whether it's cold and all I want to do is sit in a hot bathtub or next to the fireplace, life goes on.
(Peptalk to self...) I hate New Year's resolution, because like most people, I end up disappointed in myself on Dec. 31st when I realize I failed again. I've resolved to lose the same 20 lbs--3 years in a row!! Those stubborn lbs do not want to leave this body. Maybe this year, I'll lose them...maybe. I'm also going to read through the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. And, I WILL be better organized this year!! I will not be disappointed come next Dec. 31st. I will lose weight, I will read my Bible, and I will organize. (End of peptalk to self.)
As I write this blog, my sweet, precious, very sick little Baylor is sound asleep on my lap. Oh, how I love these moments. I'm off to rock her and enjoy every moment of this pure bliss.
Happy resolving!
